On November 18th a team of intrepid CRMI supporters (together with some of their dogs) set out to walk from Blackpool to Hambleton, approximately 9 miles (or 17,000 steps as Tony, one of the walkers, put it).
Their mission: to raise the money to send a container of donated shoes, clothes and medical and gardening equipment from the UK to Uganda. The team enjoyed bright sunshine on the walk and were supported by Chris Allen and others who provided refreshments for both dogs and humans along the way.
Thanks to the generosity of the Matthew Good Foundation the £1,000 raised by the team themselves has been double matched meaning that the team has raised £3,000 – a tremendous amount.
We are immensely grateful to Sarah Clarke Melling, Chris Allen and Doug Smith for organising the walk, and of course to all the walkers and the sponsors.
